Our Life Skill criteria!

Chay’s Tae Kwon Do expects our students to be: Better citizens, more respectful to their parents, and follow the Tenets, Oath and our Student creed!

 

Children’s Home Rules

  1. Children must show respect to their parents and family members at all times.
  2. Children shall greet their parents when they enter the house and tell them goodbye when they leave.
  3. Children will be truthful at all times.
  4. Children will maintain a good relationship with brothers and sisters.
  5. Children must help with household chores.
  6. Children will keep their own room neat and clean.
  7. Children must keep their body, hair, and teeth clean at all times.
  8. Children will not interrupt adult conversations.
  9. Children will stay caught up on their schoolwork by doing their homework on a regular basis.
  10. Children must show respect for teachers and peers at all times.

CHILDREN WHO DO NOT OBEY THEIR PARENTS
MAY BE REDUCED IN RANK.

 

Student’s Oath

  1. I shall observe the tenets of Tae Kwon Do.
  2. I shall respect the instructor and seniors.
  3. I shall never misuse Tae Kwon Do.
  4. I shall be a champion of freedom and justice.
  5. I shall build a more peaceful world.

Student’s Creed

(Anyone testing for Green Belt or higher must know and be able to recite the Student Creed.)

  1. I will train both mind and body through Tae Kwon Do.
  2. I will promote a friendly relationship among all people.
  3. I will have the unquestionable good Morals and Integrity.
  4. I will be humble in life and be thankful for everything.
  5. I will follow all the rules of Tae Kwon Do and my instructor.

 

Tenets of Tae Kwon Do

  1. Courtesy (Ye’ Ue):  Always be kind and humble to others and make them comfortable and pleased with you.
  2. Integrity (Jung Jik):  Always be honest and have a strong sense of right and wrong.  The degree of wrong does not matter; wrong is wrong.
  3. Perseverance (In Nae):  Always be patient and diligent in achieving your goals.  Success comes to only those who persevere.
  4. Self Control (Guek Kee):  Always be in control of your emotions and your surroundings.  True respect only comes from self control.
  5. Indomitable Spirit (Baek Juhl Bool Gool):  Whenever confronted with injustice, always deal with the situation without fear of outcome or reprisal.
